Catastraspie to “I Wish I Didn’t Have Aspergers” #AutismPositivity2012

I wish you knew how many people heard and felt what you said,
I wish you knew how many people you reached,
I wish you knew how many people reached back out to you,
I hope that if you ever have cause to type those same words,
You find so many replies, that at least one of them speaks to you,
That someone stops you from feeling so alone,
Because wherever you are, you are not alone,
You never will be.

Hey there, I’m starting a category within my blog for thoughts on my social skills learning curve as a self-diagnosed aspie, a bit tongue in cheek but offering both advice and encouragement to shift away from the neurodiversity dogma that aspies don’t have work to do to remediate their social skills deficits, and should merely seek acceptance as they are. It’s easy to say that when there’s no professional help out there for those of us who didn’t pick up on our problems until adulthood, but if you ever feel like you’d like to modify an autistic trait, maybe check out my blog and see if any of my ideas from personal experience are helpful.
